15U 2021 Season Preview

The 15U squad has several new additions this year and the team meshed well during the fall season and the club is looking to carry that momentum right into the CPBL campaign.

Head coach Joe Presutti was excited with the talent he saw on his club this past fall and he believes the team is due for a big season after all of the hard work he's seen over the winter.

"We think this years club is well rounded from top to bottom. With the combination of new faces and returners, we have produced a well rounded offence that can manufacture runs at any moment," explains Presutti.

"There’s a lot of talent on this baseball club. We have 15 guys on the roster who can play. It makes for great competitiveness. Everyone will be pushing each other in a positive light."

While the team believes they will receive offensive contributions from top to bottom, they are looking to Brad Stoner to be the driving force while new additions Charlie Hughes and Brandon Schatzky hope to continue with the production they provided during the fall.

The team believes they can swing it with the best of them but they also have several standouts defensively who will be able help their pitchers throughout the season. Tim Nobrega, Tristan DesRochers and Jake Bilkas lead the charge defensively and provide stability across the board for the 15U squad.

The offence and defence both come with a lot of positives but head coach Joe Presutti believes it will be the pitching staff that anchors the club down the stretch while limiting opponents scoring chances.

"Our strengths is definitely our pitching.  Our pitching is deep, deeper than most teams I have coached since I started coaching in this organization.  We have guys who have confidence in themselves, who believe in themselves, and who trust their teammates," says Coach Presutti.

Julian Robertson and Matt Marsh will both look to make a big impact on the pitching staff as two players who can throw deep into ballgames. Luke Glenn was an arm that stood out during the fall and hopes to continue eating innings for the club in 2021. Tyler Parent is another arm who will look to contribute on the pitching side of things after a strong 2020 season with the Astros where he proved he can either start games or come on in relief.

This 15U team is well-rounded with several leaders on both of the sides of the ball and the coaching staff is very optimistic to see just how much this team can accomplish during 2021.

"We've got 15 guys who can ball, plain and simple. The compete level is there, the drive is there, the dedication is there. Now, it’s just about going out there and showing out," says Presutti.

"We believe in our players, they believe in themselves and each other.  With that in mind, we’re going to be successful. We've got many goals to accomplish.  Winning a CPBL championship is definitely up there.  We have a good chance at accomplishing that and only time will tell.
