Back-to-back victories from 15U's on Saturday

by Jason Booth

Saturday saw the 15U and 16U squad's both playing at Nelson Park in Burlington and you would think they were sharing bats as both offences exploded, leading to four wins between the two.

The 15U's got the fall started with a 19-0 victory over the Ontario Royals which was halted after four innings. While it's the 19 on the board that stands out, Julian Robertson was dominant on the mound for the Astros going three innings, allowing just one hit while racking up five strikeouts. Tyler Parent worked the final inning while not allowing a hit.

The offence was led by these five who all picked up multiple RBI's... Charlie Hughes 2 RBI's, Chris Tassopoulos 2 RBI's, Darcy Carter 3 RBI's, Justin Goldie 2 RBI's, Luke Glenn 2 RBI's.

Game two saw a great team effort across the board with several players contributing to a 7-4 win to sweep the doubleheader.

Matthew Marsh set the tone with a strong start on the mound, going four innings, allowing just two hits and mowing down opponents with nine strikeouts. Carter pitched the final two innings and had the swing and miss working as well, picking up four strikeouts.

Offensively the runs were provided by Glenn, Hughes, Robertson, Goldie, Tristan DesRochers and Jericho Morris Johns who each came through with an RBI.
