Brendan Clarke commits to Saint Leo University

by Jason Booth

18U right-handed pitcher/utility player Brendan Clarke has announced his commitment to Saint Leo University, a Division II program in Saint Leo, Florida.

Saint Leo competes in one of the most competitive DII conferences in America, the Sunshine State Conference, comprised of nine teams in Florida.

Clarke was a leader on the mound for the 17U team all summer long and will have one more summer with Team Ontario before heading South. The athleticism is evident in his game he's not only one of the top arms on our upperclass teams, but has the ability to play multiple other positions on the field as well.

A strong summer season from the Barrie native saw all of his hard work came together and ultimately helped land him at an NCAA school in the Sunshine State.

Clarke will look to compete for playing time in his first year on campus and establish himself in the program for his final three years at Saint Leo. The school has seen six players eventually move on to play games at the major league level.

Congratulations to Brendan for all of his hard work during his time with Team O and we look forward to watching him compete in one of the most exciting Division II conferences!
