College Tour Summary - Point Park University

by Jason Booth

The Astros were at Park Point University (NAIA) in Pittsburgh on Friday as they kicked off the

first stop on the College tour. There were great performances across the board. The team

showed very well and was led by some notable individual performances. Joshua Tibbits went 2-

4 at the dish and closed out a game with a clean inning on the mound. Will Timpano also picked

up a hit and was strong on the mound, keeping the Pirates off balance by changing speeds and

filling the strike zone. Bradley Stoner showed why he is a top prospect picking up three hits on

the day, and being a general behind the plate. Eyes were on Aidan Gelhard, Chris Troyer and John

Genco as they showed themselves as pitchers to watch, with strong performances. David

DeStefano in one at-bat hit a missile. Defensibly the team was led by Tristian DeRochers and

Spencer Merrit flashing the leather and strong arms at shortstop.

Big thanks go out to those Point Park University for being great hosts and welcoming us into

their facilities. This marked a great first stop on the 2022 College tour.
