Jack Gagliardi commits to Cornerstone University

by Jason Booth

18U outfielder Jack Gagliardi has announced his commitment to Cornerstone University, an NAIA program in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Cornerstone is known across the NAIA landscape not only as one of the better programs in Michigan, but for their baseball stadium as well. Dewitt Field was built in 2013 and right behind the backstop is student dorms and the team's athletic centre.

Cornerstone competes in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) which includes 12 baseball programs, many of which Team Ontario has sent players to over the years. Cornerstone finished the 2021 season with a 19-17 record, good enough for fifth in the conference.

The program has continued to trend upwards every season since the Golden Knights entered the WHAC in 2013 and we look forward to watching Jack being a big part of their transformation into becoming one of the elite programs in the WHAC.

Gagliardi's game plays on both sides of the ball and he should make a big impact on the baseball program over the next four years.

Gagliardi becomes the 11th player in Team Ontario's 2021 class to be placed at a collegiate program south of the border.

The entire staff is proud of what Gagliardi has accomplished during his time with Team Ontario and we look forward to watching what he can accomplish during his time in Michigan with the Cornerstone Golden Eagles.
