Jim Walker named Team O recruiting coordinator

Team Ontario Astros are pleased to announce Jim Walker has been named as our Recruiting Coordinator going forward for the 2020-2021 season. 

Walker has established himself over the years as a coach in the Barrie Minor Baseball system where he helped develop both the 1998 and 20021 age groups, claiming an OBA championship as well as several league and tournament championships. 

His role with Barrie Minor Baseball increased as time went on where he was eventually named to the board of directors with a focus on the development of coaches throughout the entire organization. 

In what became his biggest coaching accomplishment outside of his Barrie ties, Walker appeared on Dom Mirabelli's coaching staff during the 2016 Ontario Summer Games as the pair represented the YSBA. 

With well over a decade of experience in Ontario's minor baseball landscape, Walker has been able to identify and develop some of the best talent this province has had to offer. 

Walker has deep roots within baseball in York Region and beyond, making him the perfect fit to continue bringing elite minor baseball players into the Team Ontario family.
