McLeod-Smith commits to Ventura College

by Jason Booth

2022 corner infielder Aaron McLeod-Smith has announced his commitment to Ventura College, a CCCAA program in Ventura, California. McLeod-Smith will join 17U infielder David King with the Pirates program in the fall of 2022.

Ventura competes in the Western State Conference (WSC) of the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA), which is an association in California that oversees 108 athletic programs.McLeod-Smith's development has really taken a jump over the past year and he established himself as a leader among the upperclassmen in the program. He came through with several big base knocks en route to a Pastime Wood Bat World Championship in Indianapolis this past October.

The left-handed bat has continued to trend upwards and will look to establish himself early on with the Canadian loaded Ventura program.

The Alliston, Ont., native joins a Ventura program that finished the most recent 2021 season with an overall record of 15-13 and closed out the season on a five-game winning streak. They finished in the middle of the pack in what's widely regarded as a top-tier junior college conference.

The entire Team Ontario organization and staff is extremely excited about Aaron's accomplishment and look forward to following the Pirates over the next two years with a pair of Team Ontario grads taking the field.
