Ramesh commits to RIT

by Jason Booth

Team Ontario Shortstop, Gman Ramesh has committed to academically renowned Rochester Institute of Technology. RIT Finished the 2019 season with a winning record of 22-18.

Ramesh has spent 2 years with Team Ontario Baseball.  He has made numerous outstanding sliding and diving plays in US tournament play. He has shown good lateral range covering lots of ground in the middle infield also flashing a strong arm across the field. During the 2019 season with our 16u team, Ramesh was a scrappy offensive contributor, consistently grinding out at bats making him a very tough out. When RIT's Head Coach Rob Grow came out to watch us this past summer, Ramesh caught his attention with a 10+ pitch at bat against an opposing 90 mph arm. Ramesh, continued to foul off tough pitches in order to try to find something to drive.

Ramesh also earned All Tournament Team Honors at the 2019 16u Perfect Game Northeast World Series. Being a vocal leader and setting a positive example by portraying maximum effort on every pitch of every inning, helped lead the 2019 16u Astros to become eventual champions of the Memorial Tournament in Troy, OH. Gman’s play and leadership also assisted Team O in advancing to the semi finals in both the Midwest Challenge and the Elite Baseball Tournament at Oakland U.

Team Ontario Baseball wishes Gman Ramesh the best in his studies and baseball as he heads south of the border this fall to start the next step in his academic and athletic career.
