Team Ontario 17U picks up two massive wins to advance to the semifinals in Cincinnati

Team Ontario 17U proceeded to game three at the prestigious University of Cincinnati against the Sluggers Baseball Club. The team entered the game with a 1-1 record and needing a victory to secure top seed in the division. 


Team O sent right-hander Daniel Zayas to the bump, who chucked 3.2 innings. Team Ontario went down 5-1 in the fourth inning. With right-hander Laurence Aurielo keeping the run margin intact, Team Ontario rallied in the bottom of the sixth. 


Rivers Freckelton ripped a double which scored two runs, and Dylan Duguay executed a clutch bunt single to load the bases. Preston Vieira was the hero in this one, singling to drive in the winning run. 


Freckelton drove in three runs on the matchup while Godfrey, Vieira, and Duguay chained together two hits each. Aurelio pitched 2.1 innings giving up only two hits and striking out two to pick up the win. 


Team Ontario 17U Quarter Finals vs Wolfpack Baseball 17U


Team O proceeded to face Wolfpack in the bracket quarter finals. Right-hander Connor Lynch thew 2.2 innings with six strikeouts and a walk to pick up the win. 


Right-hander Evan Theoharris came in relief for two innings, giving up two hits, three earned-runs, walking two and striking out three. Right-hander Owen Kolter threw 0.1 innings with one strikeout.


The Team Ontario offense found its way around the victory with bat on ball and base to base action. Charlie Valliant went 1 for 2  with a double and two RBIs. Rivers Freckelton went 1 for 2 with a double and two RBIs, Luke Stoner went 1 for 2 with a hit, walk, and two RBIs. 


Joe Godfrey went 2 for 3 with 2 hits, Nathan Kaczmarek went 1 for 2, scoring twice. Keen walked twice, Noah Lamphier scored twice with 1 RBI and a walk, and Dylan Duguay went 1 for 3 with an RBI.


Team Ontario won this one 11-3 and advance to the semi-finals on Sunday.
