Team Ontario 2021 transfer/signing update

by Jason Booth

Another college season is slowly drawing to a close across most levels with postseason play beginning at the Division I beginning in the coming weeks. With that comes transfers or players signing signing with new programs and there's several that have already come through from Team Ontario alumni.

Jamie Cabral and Noah Murciano will both be moving on from Sussex County CC while Matthew Panzica leaves Niagara University. We've provided an update on all three below and where their next baseball opportunity lies.

Jamie Cabral, University of Antelope Valley (Lancaster, CA): Jamie Cabral, a 2020 grad, swung the bat extremely well over 15 games this year for the Sussex County CC Highlanders. He slashed .283/.393/.522 and left the yard twice while adding four more extra-base hits. The 5-foot-10 outfielder will join a Pioneers roster that currently holds a conference record of 10-2 and an overall record of 18-5.

Noah Murciano, University of Antelope Valley (Lancaster, CA): Noah Murciano will follow his current teammate Cabral to the West Coast as he joins one of the true power programs in the California Pacific Conference (Cal Pac). Murciano got on base this past at a clip of .407 with a .340 average across 17 games for Sussex County. The former Team Ontario catcher and 2020 grad really took a step forward in 2021 at the dish and will look to make an immediate impact on his new club in California.

Matthew Panzica, Ventura College (Ventura, CA): Panzica, a 2019 Team Ontario graduate, will also head to the West Coast, joining the Ventura College Pirates program. Panzica spent the past two years at Division I Niagara University. Ventura College claimed the 2019 Western State Conference Championship and Panzica will join the program looking to help the team make a return to that form.
