Team Ontario 2022 College Tour Hits the Road

by Jason Booth

The Team Ontario Astros are on the road! The annual college tour has begun as the bus pulled out on October 6th. The players are looking forward to ten days of games at different colleges and universities across The United States, with stops built in for tournament play as well.

A few weeks ago, the Astros had a successful trip to New York State for games against Niagara University (D1) and Herkimer CC (NJCAA D3), getting a jump on showcasing our players to colleges. Having had a great experience, the players and coaches are optimistic this experience will be even better. On this round, which is more extended than the first, they will be hitting multiple states including Pennsylvania, Maryland, Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky, Illinois and Indiana.

This tour gives our players not only the opportunity to compete against, and compare their abilities against older, more seasoned players, but also presents the opportunity to be in front of professional baseball scouts. Previous years’ tours have resulted in many scholarship offers for our graduating Team Ontario players. The team will also have the opportunity to tour schools, academic complexes, and facilities, and are able to witness firsthand the college baseball experience.

We are looking forward to being on campus at:

  • Point Park University, Pittsburgh, PA (NAIA)
  • Garrett Community College, McHenry, MD (NJCAA D2)
  • East Georgia State Community College, Swainsboro, GA (NJCAA D1)
  • University of South Carolina Lancaster, Lancaster, SC (NJCAA D1)
  • Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, KY (NCAA D1)
  • Indiana Wesleyan University, Marion, IN (NAIA)
  • Judson University, Chicago, IL (NAIA)

Thank you to all the schools for hosting us! We are loaded up and are ready to showcase the skill, talent, and character we know that Team Ontario Astros have to offer and hope the players will leave inspired by a possible future in College baseball.
