Team Ontario Alumni Watch: LHP Caleb Wurzer, Pratt CC

College baseball is in the thick of things and Team Ontario alumni players are spotted around various leagues and states. Team Ontario and its staff had collaboratively assisted various players pave a path towards their goal of playing college ball.

One of those players was a 2023 graduate, left-handed pitcher Caleb Wurzer. The south-paw ex-18U ace is currently attending Pratt Community College located in Pratt, Kansas, USA.

Pratt is a junior college competing out of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC).

Wurzer has translated a great deal of talent and development from travel baseball in Ontario to the NJCAA. His competitive nature, command, and composure has him with a clean line so far this season. Wurzer made 11 appearances with four starts and holds a record of 2 wins and 1 loss. He’s tossed 17.1 innings striking out 19-hitters.

The lefty was a huge part of Team Ontario’s 18U roster last season. He has great command with a repeated delivery, good understanding of counts and pitch selection. He’s confident in all off-speed and breaking pitches, and is able to throw them for strikes. He started off living early to mid 80s, and now sits late 80s.

Wurzer will continue to develop and be of assistance to Pratt as the season moves on.
