by Jason Booth

Team Ontario had 5 of our players named to the top prospect list from the CPBL Perfect Game Showcase earlier list fall in Dorchester, ON. Congratulations to John Genco, Philip Sephton, Antony Kulasekaran, Wesley Knott & Preston Vieira.

Below are the write-ups on each player from the Perfect Game staff:

John Genco  SS - 2024 - Woodbridge, ON CAN (Uncommitted)

Genco put on a strong performance on both sides of the ball. The switch-hitter showcased advanced barrel feel at the plate with the ability to provide quality defense at shortstop.

Philip Sephton  C - 2024 - North York, ON CAN (Uncommitted)

Sephton showed versatility on the defensive side of the ball, throwing 75 mph from the outfield and recording a 2.00 second pop time. Quality barrel whip and feel for the barrel resulted in some of the more consistent hard hit contact.

Antony Kulasekaran  OF - 2024 - Markham, ON CAN (Uncommitted) Kulasekaran displayed good athleticism on both sides of the ball. Confident hands with good momentum through the catchpoint were shown on the defensive side. Good bat speed and leverage led to consistent hard hit balls back up the middle at the plate.

Wesley Knott  SS - 2024 - Oro-Medonte, ON CAN (Uncommitted)

Knott had a quality, well-rounded showing throughout the event. The infielder displayed clean actions on the dirt while throwing 84 mph across the diamond. The arm strength played well on the mound, showing the ability to generate quick outs.

Preston Vieira  C - 2025 - Oshawa, ON CAN (Uncommitted)

Vieira has good strength to his hands and shows that off in his swing, swinging it hard with a heavy barrel that does damage. He also showed solid footwork and a quality arm behind the plate.
