Tyler Kelly commits to Lakeland CC

by Jason Booth

2021 right-handed pitcher/outfielder Tyler Kelly has announced his commitment to Lakeland Community College, a Division II NJCAA program in Kirtland, Ohio.

Kelly has really developed as a pitcher over the past couple years and his athleticism has helped him grow on the mound. Kelly can also man centrefield with ease due to his speed, something that really adds another element to his offensive production.

Kelly has been with the program for four years now and it's been exciting to watch him develop into a college ready player. Director of Baseball Operations and his current 17U Head Coach, Jason Booth, says Kelly has the work ethic needed to become an impact player at the next level.

"Tyler has been with our organization for four seasons now and has excelled on and off the field," says Booth. "With his work ethic, I know he is going to excel at the collegiate level. We would like to congratulate Tyler and his family on this achievement."

The Lakeland Lakers play out of Region 12 which boasts some of the best junior college programs in the north. Tyler will look to make an immediate impact on the program when he steps on campus next fall.

Team Ontario is excited to follow Kelly's college career and we look forward to sharing his accomplishments with the program over the next four years. Congratulations, Tyler!
